The Perfect Oil Level in a Compressor
Just because you haven't had a blowout doesn't mean you shouldn't release the pressure off the regulator. It's a 5 second process. It's better than your tank turning into a missle literally.
Am working on a scroll compressor that most tech that check unit sed that compressor burn but when I check compressor is working but meaking a lot of noise already have a new one seem like it wos running with out oil foun out that unit have a refrigerant leak from the high side of the unit U tink that can cause unit to stop suction or the discharge pressure from moving up or down
@@hubertjacob9606 that is not enough information. Did you measure the oil out of the old compressor?
@@RefrigerationMentor I can't the compressor is still on condencing unit I add sum poe oil to compressor but compressor still not puming
Does this apply to r22 to 407c for AC? I work with 06Ds in Liebert units and retrofit r22 systems to 407c a lot. I never took into account the operation envelope of the compressors.
Yo Trevor, got a question I went back to the appliance field from HVAC and was wondering if it's an issue that I use my huge Field Piece pump (the first gen with replacable oil while pulling a vacuum) for domestic refrigerators?
@@natepeterson7145 no it’s not an issue but it won’t save you any more time then a smaller pump, as i use to think. Bigger pump = faster evacuation is not the case with smaller systems.
@@RefrigerationMentor just making sure my over sized pump isn't sucking out the oil. These hydrocarbon refrigerators discharge lines get stupid hot. So much you can hold onto them for a while. Thanks for the reply!
Hi Trevor, whats the tool to tighten the packing with the two slots cut on each side. That one you cannot put a wrench on.
Very little vibration
@@johnpaulsonjr7214 nailed it. Thanks for commenting.
learned this at school and it makes a world of difference! That and temp. control
@@teemowins4017 awesome. Sounds like you had some good teachers. Share more of your knowledge with others. It sounds like you have a lot.
Hi trevs how do i clean a restriction from a under conter fridge.do i clean like im cleaning a domestic fridge using a R22a ?
@@bennimotlatsi8901 can you elaborate
Hi there, in the case the ice rink hall would be elevated over the ground, with floors under for parking and storage, could the refrigerating plant be located in the floor right under the ice field? thanks in advance for any input!
@@lluhu yes but it would have to be designed and engineered correctly.
@@RefrigerationMentor many thanks!
All that safety gear, but no safety glasses??? 😂😂😂
The best mentor ever
thankssss my costumer is really scaredddd!!! hehehe
That seal is what fails prematurely on these, i only got 4 yesrs before failing
how do you check discharge superheat
would love to know more
Single phase scroll compressor don't really need a start capacitor.

How do I get ahold of this free guide?
@@Jway8412 offers.refrigerationmentor.com/free-guide?
@RefrigerationMentor Thank you so much for what you do. You have helped me tremendously. I'm listening to all your podcasts and looking into taking your supermarket master class. Keep up the awesome work brother!
I rebuild various compressors for a living the amount of compressors I inspect that are seized and come back to the workshop with no oil is amazing, faulty oil regulators that are never tested or checked just reset constantly.
@@Kritchley I believe it. Too many compressors are replaced without the proper checks
Very good information, I'm not a supermarket tech but I work with semi hermetic compressors a lot.
Think about the poor bastard who has to come behind and repair the system. So many times, I've had to stand on my head, remove parts of a system to get to what I really need to work on, or shut down large parts of a system because of no isolation valves when often a little more thought than "what would be the easiest way to install this" would go a long way.
I love it when oil is discombobulating for no reason
Your wrong! Ill do it wrong many times
Awesome
Great information Trevor, thanks for sharing.
@@PaulNoreen thanks for watching. I appreciate the comments.
I ASK YOU TO PLEASE ADD TURKISH SUBTITLES TO THE SUBTITLES OF YOUR VIDEOS. WE CANNOT BENEFIT FROM YOUR VIDEOS.
All of our compressors we have have a low pressure safety switch connected at the port on the crank case that you pointed at. With that being said, what is the best way to take the pressure in the crank case? Is there an alternative? Thanks.
@@Jway8412 that is a great question. You have two options add a tee fitting or take it off pressure off the suction. I would just take it off the suction unless you get a bad reading or need to do a blow by test.
@@RefrigerationMentor great info! Thanks for the reply 👍
My gentilin c330 is overheating not sure y
I just replaced the sentronic to a coresense and have no LED at the module. Do I need a wire on terminal 2 as a neutral? 115 vac
@@LibertyMurph check the coresense manual and find the wiring schematic. You have to add a 3rd wire to power it at all times. And if you have demand cooling or a digital compressor connected you will have different wiring again. Check the manual.
Look at logs to see if happening at certain tkmes. See if system dumping into header at compressor locatiin . Sentronic sensor on reciprocal compressor plugged. Bad contactor sticking causing over amp and opening internal w😅😊windings then timing out on oil control. Oil filter plugged. Suction filters left in after start up causing oil return issues. Too small oil reservoir and all compressors coming on after a defrost statving oil supply y825 oil differential bad. Oil check valve top of resevoir bad. Valve plate bad. @@dbell41888 yes it definitely could be.
Valve plates
Are those classes online ?
@@nakiapringley5391 we have many. Head to www.refrigerationmentor.com to learn more.
Compressors #1 and #2 is overflowing with oil, but compressors 4 and 5 don't get enough. Is the oil getting past the separator and coming back through the suction?
@@chris84662 that could be one of many things. Compressor staging, plugged screens, floodback, defrost issues, piping issues. It is Very hard to say with this information. Check the pressure diff across the separator and the temp of each compressor discharge line.
How does that look is my question. As a new tech.

Vapour can also condense in the accumulator on off cycle , makes it look like a flood start
@@VoiD1x very true. Refrigerant will travel to the coldest part of the system.
Brilliant video, what could be causing the system to go out on HP? Apart from it being a blocked gas cooler?
@@adamdart855 overcharged, air in the system, fan setup, HPV programming, FGBV issues. There are many other things that could cause issues.
You made those words up. And used Ai to make fake images
No I have not
@@michaels3757 hopefully it is helpful
The company better be supplying that stuff. If they don’t then it sounds like it’s time to drag up.
13psi is not 0.7b but nearer 0.9b. Also, Temprite separators will pop the bottom seal, which could rule out pressure difference check.
@@blokefromsmoke you are right. I made a mistake. 13 psi is .896 bar. Thanks for noticing.
